Well finished boards01/28/2013 ByDave I paint custom sets and have ordered at least fifteen sets of boards through SC Cornhole - I have nothing but good things to say about both the boards and the company.
The framework on these boards is excellent - clean 1-inch wood with 2 supports underneath; this makes the boards much lighter than those made with 2X4s and gives the surface just as much support. The corners are mitered and rounded. The frame is routed around the top and the plywood is then dropped in - there are no exposed, rough seams anywhere. They arrive sanded pretty well, and a quick once-over with a fine finishing sander will give you a great, smooth surface for either paint or stain. These boards are definitely a step above others I have seen online.
I did receive one set on which some blemished and cracked plywood had been used - I sent an email concerning it and recieved an email the next day from Dave, who took care of the issue immediately. Shipping is also quick - I have always taken deliver
Better Than I Could have Made01/06/2014 ByBrett F. I came across the "4x2' Unpainted Regulation Boards (without bags)" while researching plans to build a set of boards as a yard game for my wedding rehearsal dinner. These boards were less than the materials would have cost to build my own set. After reading five; five star reviews it was a no brainer. I was confident that I would get a quality set of boards.
When I opened the box containing the boards I was blown away, as the quality far exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship on these boards is by far the absolute best I have ever seen. The corners are mitered, all of the edges are rounded, and tops are recessed into the frame with a nice rabbet. All of the knots, seams and nail holes have been filled and sanded smooth. The 1x4 construction with adequate re-enforcement makes the boards plenty strong, but cuts a lot of unnecessary weight making them easy to toss in the back of a truck or SUV to head down to the tailgate.
All of these details go into making these boards the m
Fantastic Boards06/08/2011 ByAmy I can't say enough good things about these boards. The picture provided on the website really doesn't do it justice. I was a little hesitant to order a pre-made set online when I've had so many friends make their own fairly decent boards. I went on and did it anyways though and I'm so glad I did. The boards are true to size and made with quality materials. The wood is thick, the boards are very sturdy and perfectly sanded. The boards are also have a swinging hinge on the back so they can lay flat for storage.
The company was also great with shipping. I received timely and informative emails updating me on the status of my order. The order was shipped out almost immediately and arrived in perfect condition.
My friends are definitely jealous of this cornhole set in terms of quality. I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to painting them and putting them into use immediately.
Great Quality 07/30/2018 ByBob G. Purchased Corn hole Boards the I was going to finish with my daughter. Good quality boards and assembly that were semi-finished. Semi-Finished = large holes and scratches in boards had been patched, corners and edges rounded off, flat surfaces sanded, etc. The legs were assembled and worked great. I could have finished "as is" but wanted a smoother surface (I am a perfectionist). Did some additional minor scratches and dent fill in and did a final sanding of surfaces. Picked up Corn hole boards at Chicago area location. The gentleman was very nice when I picked it up and gave me some additional ideas on how to finish (the of primer and paint). The Corn hole boards turned out great. Would buy these boards again.
Family/friends Winner12/30/2014 ByGarth F. Fort Great product. I finished an earlier set with several coats of polyurethane and achieved tournament grade "low friction surface." Took directly to large family reunion as a surprise... All generations at the board late into the nights.... A win big time. Ordered three more because different family members in different cities want their own... sneaking in some practice I guess. My simple clear coat may be trumped with Detroit Lions logos etc. What a great "participation" catalyst!
Sincerely,
